The housing market looks to be gradually approaching a recovery. A growing number of mortgage-locked homes are going up for sale, JPMorgan said. AdvertisementThe housing market looks like it's starting to thaw, thanks to a growing number of mortgage-locked sellers who are opting to put their homes on the market anyway, according to JPMorgan Asset Management. Homeowners could now be more willing to dip into the housing market, as many are realizing high mortgage rates aren't going away anytime soon, real estate economists have said. Researchers from the Federal Housing Finance Agency recently warned that the mortgage lock-in effect could linger for years to come, barring a sudden drop in mortgage rates.

The actor Pierce Brosnan pleaded guilty on Thursday to hiking in a restricted thermal area of Yellowstone National Park in November, and was ordered to pay a total of $1,500, according to U.S. District Court records in Wyoming. As part of a plea deal, Mr. Brosnan, 70, who called into the court hearing by phone and reversed a not-guilty plea he had entered in January, was ordered to pay a fine of $500 and make a $1,000 donation to Yellowstone Forever, a nonprofit partner of the park, according to court documents. Under the deal, another charge that Mr. Brosnan had faced, of violating closures and use limits, was dismissed by U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephanie A. Hambrick, court records show. Karl Knuchel, a lawyer for Mr. Brosnan, did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Thursday.

The names Tom Marvolo Riddle and Voldemort have significant meaning. The phrase "I am Lord Voldemort" is an anagram of Tom Marvolo Riddle. Warner Bros.Names often have deeper meanings in the "Harry Potter" universe, and Voldemort is no exception. The phrase "vol de mort" means "theft of death" or "flight of death" in French, which is an apt description of his main goals throughout the series. For example, in the French translation, his given name is Tom Elvis Jedusor in order to rearrange to "Je suis Voldemort" — which means "I am Voldemort."

As interest in the pandemic waned, experts say some wellness influencers have latched on to climate change to galvanize followers. Patrick T. Fallon/AFP/Getty ImagesCécile Simmons, a trained yoga teacher, was surprised when many of the wellness accounts she followed started posting about climate change. Some wellness influencers are exposing young audiences to a slew of climate misinformation. Climate misinformation is having “a profound impact” both on people’s beliefs and on the normalization of fringe perspectives, Caulfield said. It’s particularly worrying as it allows climate misinformation to reach new audiences, experts say, including young people that might otherwise be supportive of climate change action.

Doctors can forgo taking notes during a patient’s visit because an AI system would listen in and capture information. Photo: Doug Barrett for The Wall Street JournalDoctors have started using artificial intelligence in novel ways to communicate with patients and help make diagnoses. Now the government is wrestling with how to ensure the tools do no harm. Federal regulators are proposing a new labeling system for AI healthcare apps designed to make it easier for clinicians to spot the pitfalls and shortcomings of these tools. The Biden administration has proposed that these apps come with a “nutrition label” that discloses how the app was trained, how it performs, how it should be used and how it shouldn’t.

President Biden looks to former President Barack Obama after signing an executive order during an event for the Affordable Care Act in 2022. Photo: Carolyn Kaster/Associated PressOne of the most revealing debates in the Republican Party is one that has disappeared from the campaign trail: the fight over repealing Obamacare. This presidential election marks the first in more than a decade in which no GOP candidates are pledging to eviscerate the landmark Affordable Care Act, ending a standoff between the parties over whether the government is responsible for providing access to healthcare.

The standoff between the Biden administration and insurers underscores the challenges of fixing cracks in the U.S. mental-health-care system. Photo: Allison Bailey/Zuma PressMany consumers with insurance are forced to pay hundreds and even thousands of dollars a year on mental-health care despite a 15-year-old law that is supposed to make such treatment as affordable and accessible as any other type of medical care. Now the Biden administration wants to impose new requirements on insurers that it says would reduce out-of-pocket costs for mental-health care and substance-use-disorder treatment. The insurance industry is firing back, arguing the proposal would drive up prices and set impossible-to-meet standards.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tenor Stephen Gould, who announced earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with incurable bile duct cancer, has died. Gould's agent Stephanie Ammann confirmed the singer died Tuesday in Virginia. He debuted in Richard Wagner’s “Ring” cycle in Bayreuth in 2006, earning raves during the challenging four-nights of performances. It’s often discovered by accident — for example, through routine blood tests or imaging done for an unrelated reason. He is survived by his sister.

Congress grilled the PGA about its bid to merge with LIV Golf and accept Saudi Arabian investment. As PGA Tour board member Jimmy Dunne put it, "There is simply an agreement to try to get to an agreement." LIV Golf would only play in the fall and not overlap with the heart of the PGA Tour season. What makes the demand even stranger is that the PGA Tour almost certainly does not have the power to grant this. After all, despite the initial fight between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, none of the defecting players were being withheld from competing in the majors.
